#KeepPounding and other hashtags are trending across the United States today on twitter and other social media. Hashtags have been around since August of 2007. The first hashtag ever used was #barcamp. #KeepPounding is about the Carolina Panthers football season. They use the hashtag to get fans on board to watch and support them throughout the rest of their playoff run. Another hashtag that is trending right now is #FaceTimeNash. For those of you who do not know what this is about, Nash Grier is an online sensation that became famous from vines which i follow and his first movie The Outfield Movie. Grier sent a tweet out saying "Rt for a facetime #FaceTimeNash". Now millions and millions of people are trying to convince Grier to facetime them. 1. I agree, hashtags are a great way of making a movement in today's society. Hashtags are no longer exclusively on twitter but have entered other forms of social media as well, including Facebook and Instagram. Like you mentioned, all it takes for one person with many followers to post a hashtag and have millions of people posting it in seconds. It has become a very effective and efficient way of spreading a message in the media.

  2. I think hashtags are a really good way to get people on board and to get information trending online. I'm a Bengals fan and I know this season I saw tons of hashtags such as: #WhoDey, #BengalsNation, and #CincinnatiProblems. If I can't watch a game I sometimes get on twitter to get updates. Looking through tweets that used a hashtag is a cool way to get the game details through thousands of people's opinions.
