Ohio Northern Track and Field Inter-squad Meet
The Orange Orangutans won the first annual Ohio Northern track and field inter-squad meet. There were three teams in the meet, the Orange Orangutans, the White Wombats, and the Black Bears. going into the last race the Men's 4x400 relay the score was Orange team 141, White team 138, Black Bears 134. The orange team won the 4x400 which consisted of Corey Briggs who lead off, Ian McVey who was second, Ian Mckee who was third and Christian Rupe the anchor for the team ran a 3:35.34. The Black team finished second with a time 3:36.19 and the White team finished with a time of 3:42.85. When talking to Rupe after the race about the performance of the team, he said "My team was excellent, I did not know what to expect with how good all three teams were. I feel if we all contributed the way we needed to and it feels good that in my senior year my team was the first winners of the first annual annual inter-squad meet." Robbie Brinkman a 60 meter hurdler tied the school record with a time of 8.66. He tied Matt Craven record who is also on the team this year. These two hope to make the National meet together for their senior years. Make sure you check out your Polar Bears here in the near future, as this Friday they have their first meet. The meet is a split-meet in Alliance, Ohio at Mount Union. There will be live tweeting and stats throughout the meet.
